Wolf King Lobo(狼王羅伯)


It is a true story happened in America during 1889 to 1894.There is a wolf king which are very famous for its slyness named Lobo.What Lobo and its follower eat are the beautiful heifers(小母牛) and that costs a great loss of herdsmen.Sometimes the pack attack and kill thousands of sheep just for entertainment and no wolf take a bite on these sheep.However,no matter how hard shepherds try,they can not stop Lobo.Hunters use poisoned baits,traps or let dogs to hunt the wolves,but no one succeed.When the local people almost want to give up,they accidentally catch one wolf belonging in Lobo’s pack-it is a beautiful female white wolf whose name is Blanca.It is not only one of followers of Lobo but also the wife of Lobo and is brutal killed by the angry herdsmen.After Lobo knows that Blanca is dead,people can hear Lobo’s dolorous whine through all night.When the sun rises,people find Lobo is caught by traps with no struggling or howling.Lobo gives up its kingdome,disbands its followers and die on the next day it was caught just to follow Blanca.Finally,local people very respect them and bury Lobo and Blanca together to let them can stay with each other forever.

    It’s a legendary and touching story. How did you know the story? But l am a little bit confused about the reason why people respected Lobo and Blanca in the end of the story.

After Wolf Totem （狼圖騰） ,this time I want to introduce the book Return to the Pack( 重返狼群 )to you.Not like Wolf Totem,the story teller is a woman,which lead the story to another style.     When the writer come to the grassland of Zoigê county( 若爾蓋草原 ),she hear a story about a wolf family-father wolf steal the livestock for its wife which just give birth to six wolf culbs,but it is unfortunately killed by the herdsmen not just for revenge but for its fur,and the desperate female wolf decide to kill itself to follow its husband,leaving five little wolf.As soon as she hear the story,she come as fast as she can to save these immature lives,but only one is alive when she arrive.
