Werewolf



   I believe that you are very familiar with this kind of monster-werewolf.They are as famous as vampires.Today I am going to introduce this well-known monster to you.

   The rumor is from Europe during Middle Ages.At that time, a plague known as the "black death" swept over Europe,and made people become superstitious because they believed that it is God that punish them.They wanted destroy everything about evil,so they started to hunt witches and burn them on the stake.I don’t know why people associate wolf with evil.Maybe because wolf often haunt in night and attack livestocks.As they started to hunt wolf,they also begain to tell the story that how a human become a wolf after bitten by wolf.That is one of the earliest story about werewolf.

   According to the mythology,human will transform into  werewolf at the full-mooned night.After transformation,they will lose the humanity and think themselves as totally wolf.They are hard to be killed,but they have a big weakness-they are afraid of silver,so the monster hunters often prepare the silver bullets(銀子彈) to kill a werewolf.However,they must be very very careful,once they miscalculate,they are very likely to be killed by werewolf.

After Wolf Totem （狼圖騰） ,this time I want to introduce the book Return to the Pack( 重返狼群 )to you.Not like Wolf Totem,the story teller is a woman,which lead the story to another style.     When the writer come to the grassland of Zoigê county( 若爾蓋草原 ),she hear a story about a wolf family-father wolf steal the livestock for its wife which just give birth to six wolf culbs,but it is unfortunately killed by the herdsmen not just for revenge but for its fur,and the desperate female wolf decide to kill itself to follow its husband,leaving five little wolf.As soon as she hear the story,she come as fast as she can to save these immature lives,but only one is alive when she arrive.
